Social Services

Jewish Family Services at the Albert & Sara Reuben Senior and Community Resource Center

Vision Statement: A community in which no person faces life challenges alone.

Mission Statement: Provide inclusive human services inspired by Jewish values to strengthen lives and community in Greater Indianapolis.

___

Jewish Family Services (JFS), the Social Services Department of the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis, offers a continuum of multi-generational services that enhances the health, well-being, and dignity of families and older adults in our local community. Services are available to persons directly or through a network of community agencies dedicated to the needs of each client, regardless of religion, race, nationality, ethnic group, or income level.

When you contact JFS, a highly trained professional will listen, evaluate, and determine eligibility and make referrals for needed services. Each situation will be addressed in a confidential manner, with respect for the individuality and independence of each person. The client and family are involved in deciding upon the best care options.

JACS: Jewish Addiction Community Services

JACS Jewish Addiction Community Services. At JFS, we have social workers who will meet privately with individuals to help establish a plan for recovery in confidentiality. We can provide information on critical resources and provide support as an adjunct to treatment; through our partnership with JACS and facilitator Rabbi Aaron Spiegel, we are able to provide a monthly support group for Jewish individuals struggling with addiction and their families.

At JFS, we show there is no shame in reaching out for help. There is no need for the members of our community to suffer in silence. You are not alone.

We recently had the privilege of interviewing Rabbi Aaron Spiegel about the importance of this support group.

Popsie’s Pantry offers dry and canned goods, along with household items and toiletries, to those who qualify for food and assistance and/or require kosher food.

KAVOD offers assistance for Holocaust survivors in Greater Indianapolis.

JFS at the Reuben Center offers a range of services & resources to support & assist seniors & their families.

JFS provides supportive services for persons of all age ranges with special needs and physical disabilities.
