Popsie's Pantry, the Jewish community's food pantry, continues to be a vital program serving the most vulnerable populations in the greater Indianapolis area. In 2014, our food pantry reached over 2,110 individuals. Approximately 35 percent of those individuals are children under the age of 18 and an additional 19 percent are seniors over the age of 65.
Unfortunately, the need for this vital program continues to increase. In 2014, the demand for access to the pantry exceeded our capacity. As a result, over 100 families were unable to access it to help fill their own pantries.
What can you do to help? You can adopt Popsie's Pantry for a week during 2015. Help us meet the needs of the families in our community. Get your coworkers, business associates, local business owners, friends, workout buddies, sports teams, or other groups you are a part of to join together to collect food for a week. Alternatively, your group of friends can pool your money to stock Popsie's Pantry; $500 stocks the shelves of the pantry for one week. Contact Lauren Morgan at 317.259.6817 or lmorgan@jfgi.org to get your group on the 2015 calendar!
