The 65th Street Klezmorim celebrate their 18th anniversary with a concert featuring traditional Eastern European music as well as modern interpretations of the Klezmer sound.
Klezmer music can be easily defined as "the folk music of the Jewish community." For centuries, this music has helped Jews around the world celebrate the richness that is their heritage and faith.
The 65th Klezmorim held its first rehearsal on January 28, 1998 under the direction of its founder, IHC's very own Cantor Janice Roger, in prepare for IHC’s cultural arts festival of that year. Since their premiere performance, the group has filled worship services and hallways with the sound of Jewish music. Come hear the band as it plays klezmer favorites old and new.
