Rosenwald is a documentary that couldn’t be more appropriate for the issues of today. It’s about the founder of Sears, Roebuck and Co., Julius Rosenwald, who helped change the lives of countless African Americans for the better. The Chicago philanthropist used his great wealth and talent for leadership to fix what he viewed as wrong in the world. He gave away $63 million to various causes, some of which was used to for challenge grants, helping to build more than 5,200 Southern schools in African American communities in the early 1900s during the Jim Crow era.
