J-Serve is a national day of Jewish teen service. Thousands of Jewish youth throughout country will be engaging in community service and living the values of tikkun olam. The project is going to be creating a family-friendly, welcoming space at the BJE Library in which children can access Jewish books, PJ Library can hold activities, and families can access materials to help bring Judaism into their homes. The activity is being billed as Extreme Makeover: Children’s Library Edition. It is going to be a fun afternoon of completely remaking the library through building furniture, creating murals, and developing learning station
