Remember the Past, Protect the Future, Lessons from Medicine and the Holocaust

The Indiana University Center for Bioethics is hosting a community event entitled, Remember the Past, Protect the Future: Lessons from Medicine and the Holocaust, on April 17th, from 7-9 PM.

Our guest speaker, Dr. Stacy Gallin, DMH, is the Founder and Director of the Benjamin Ferencz Institute for Ethics, Human Rights and the Holocaust (formerly the Maimonides Institute for Medicine, Ethics and the Holocaust). Dr. Gallin founded Athletes Against Antisemitism and Discrimination in July 2023 as a way to engage athletes—both at the student level and beyond—and empower them to use their platform to help raise awareness regarding the Holocaust, antisemitism and other forms of identity-based hate. She is a contributing editor for the Globe Post and the Times of Israel, where she writes about issues related to ethics, law, public policy and human rights through the lens of the Holocaust. She also teaches an international course on ethics, human rights and the Holocaust through the Global Network for Medical, Health Professions and Bioethics Education, of which she is the Co-Chair of Education.
