The Indianapolis Jewish community has, since its earliest beginnings, worked together to provide religious burial preparations for our members. Since 1935 Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary has proudly shared in this collaboration.
On October 24 at 7:30 pm, we are holding a recognition reception for the many men and women who have lovingly participated as members of the Chevra Kadisha, the men and women who volunteer to bath the body of a deceased Jew, and acted as Shomrim, the religious guard or watchman for the deceased.
Additionally, we are asking that anyone in our community who would like to learn more about these beautiful, respectful traditions come to speak with the current volunteers. It is imperative we continue to have a vibrant, active Chevra Kadisha. Please consider coming to this dessert reception. All dietary laws will be observed.
