The Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis, in cooperation with the Joseph and Sylvia Rothbard family, provides a limited number of need-based grants to encourage youth to participate in Jewish summer overnight camp experiences at Jewish non-profit camps. In addition to grants made possible by the Rothbard family, JFGI is part of the One Happy Camper network of scholarship and grant providers. Learn more and apply for a grant for camp below.

Joe and Sylvia Rothbard Family Jewish Summer Camp Program
The Joe and Sylvia Rothbard Family provides financial need-based grants to encourage youth in grades 3-12 to participate in Jewish overnight summer camps. Applicants must be members of the Greater Indianapolis Jewish community. All information in the application as well as the grant is strictly confidential.
These grant requests are reviewed and decided by a committee that meets in April.

One Happy Camper
The Federation in cooperation with the Foundation for Jewish Camp provides incentive grants to encourage youth in grades 2-11 to participate in Jewish overnight nonprofit summer camps for twelve or more days.
Incentive grants will be awarded to first-time campers who are members of the greater Indianapolis Jewish community; at least one parent/guardian must be a member in good standing and contribute to the Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis in the year the grant is awarded.
As of 2011, youth who receive an intensive Jewish experience during the school year are ineligible for the Foundation for Jewish Camp Incentive grant.
In the summer of 2021, we sent 19 first-time campers to Jewish camp through the One Happy Camper grants!
There are a limited number of grants, and applications for all camp scholarships will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
